3 CLUB RECORDS!

Last week in the Lower YDL Archie Cooper broke the U13 boys 75m Hurdles Club record by 0.7 seconds which is massive over that distance!! Archie ran 13.0 seconds which puts him 15th on the UK Ranking list in 2017. Great work Archie!!

Another Hurdles record was broken this weekend by a considerable amount with Alana Birch breaking the U17 women's 80m Hurdles club record by 0.5 seconds! Alana Ran 12.9 seconds beating her previous time of 13.4 seconds!

Finally Emma Wright extended her own U20 Women's triple jump club record by almost half a metre! The previous mark was 9.45m and now stands at 9.92m!

Great effort guys and we hope there is more to come in the future!  :)
Greater Manchester Championships

Last weekend we had many athletes compete at this years Greater Manchester Championships from ages ranging from 9 to 60+

We had many great performances to go alongside the many medals won by the club. Here are all the medals which we won:

NEW CLUB RECORD!!

Congratulations to Oliver Brereton who broke the club record in the mens 110mH with a time of 18.7seconds with his first attempt in this event in the Northern Athletics League! Congratulations Oliver, there is plenty more to come from you!
Northern Athletics League / Cheshire League

Last weekend the club competed at 2 competitions. On Saturday our U17 - Senior athletes went to Whitehaven to compete in the North of England athletics league. Thanks to everybody who showed a fantastic commitment to the club by making the 2.5 hour journey and produced some great performances. The Team managed to finish 3rd on the day which is a great result as we have just been promoted to a higher division.

On Sunday we had the Cheshire league for all our athletes at Macclesfield. Thank you to all our athletes and supporters who represented Salford Met AC both on and off the track

We had 75 athletes compete for the club over this weekend which is truly remarkable!

NEW CLUB RECORD!!

Congratulations to Alana Birch who broke the club record in the U17 80mH with a time of 13.4seconds at the YDL in Leigh. This was the first time she has hurdled over this distance and has got off to a great start. Well done Alana.

Greater Manchester SportsHall Championships​​

Well done to all our young athletes that competed today at the Greater Manchester SportsHall Championships. All of them gave 100%. A special mention to Ben Glynn who managed to pick up a few medals! Also to our under 15 girls who have got personal bests managed to pick a medal each! Well done guys, keep up the good work!


Northern Indoor Championships


Well done to everyone who competed in this year Northern Athletics Championships. A special mention for Jordan Jones who competed in the U17 boys 60m & 200m. He managed to get through the heats and reach the semi final in the 60m and  went one further in the 200m going through the heats and semi final to reach the final! Massive well done. Also a mention for Alana Birch who competed in 3 events over the weekend (U17 girls 60m, shot putt & 200m) and like Jordan, went through the heats of the 60m to reach the semi final.
