5 Club records Broken!

Well done to all the athletes who competed at Sportshall this weekend! Congratulations to these athletes who broke club records:

 -         U11 Boy - David Lowe  - Speed Bounce – 50 Bounces

-          U11 Boys – Lucas Evans, Joshua Perryman, Ethan Nation, David Lowe – 4 x 1Lap Obstacle Relay – 81.26 secs

-          U11 Girl - Megan Bentley - 1 lap - 12.27 secs

-          U13 Girl  – Isabel Johnson –  Standing Triple Jump – 5.16m

-          U15 Girl – Abigail McNulty – Standing Triple Jump – 5.53m

Busy weekend for Salford Met With More Club Records!

This weekend our athletes, coaches and volunteers were involved within the final Schools cross country, Manchester League cross country and Sporthall.

A big well done to all those athletes who competed in the Salford Schools cross country, and a huge thank you to all those volunteers who helped out throughout the series!

New Senior Club Record!

Derek Martin competed at the Northern T&F at Wrexham and  improved the club record holding distance to 30.87m in the Hammer.

New Junior Club Record!

At the Oldham YDL on the 19th July 2014 a new U13's club record was set by Megan Boyden, despite the rain she achieved a time of 12.6s in the 70m Hurdles, the previous holder was Isobel Seed with 13.1.

A successful meet hosted by Salford Met AC with 2 New Club Records!

Salford hosted the 3rd match of the Cheshire League on 6th July 2014 and the club experienced what seemed like a record turnout. The nice weather probably helped!

Overall on the day the Men finished 1st, Ladies 2nd and U11's 2nd.

Two U17 club records were extended by the current holder, Matthew McQueeney these being the High jump which was 1.72m and now stands at 1.75m and the Javelin which stood at 39.67m and now stands at 44.34m.

Well done to all who competed and helped on the day.

New Senior Club Record!

Good day at the Northern track & Field League despite the very wet weather 7th June 2014.

James Burke
 pushed himself to the limit on the 5000m with a time of 17.43.2 and in the process takes the record from Duncan Mason's 17.59.7 held since 2012.
Duo Break Club Records!

Lewis Hickson improved his Club record for the 100m to 11.3 from his previous of 11.5. This was at the YDL at Ellesmere Port on the 1st June 2014.

Also Matthew McQueeney took the U17 Javelin record to 39.67m from  Ellis Cooper's 37.00m (2009).

Well done to both athletes.
Long Standing Club Record Broken!

Senior ladies 400m long standing record was broken by Olivia McDermott who competed at the joint Cheshire / Greater Manchester Track & Field Championships which was held at Macclesfied on the 17th/18th May 2014. Achieving a time of 60.25 seconds beating the previous record which was held by S Darlington set in 1983 with a time of 60.6 seconds.
